not forget the legitimate aspiration of the Tibetan people
a time when the universal values of human Rights and freedom, historically worn by France, are echoed internationally particularly during the great democratic movements that offer new hope in the Middle East, it is more important than ever to remind our
citizen support for the efforts of dialogue and non-violence advocated by the Dalai Lama in particular to preserve the peaceful ancient culture and freedom of the Tibetan people.
After nine rounds of unsuccessful negotiations with Chinese authorities, despite international pressure, after waves of arrests and repression that followed the Olympics
of 2008, there are proposals to ban Tibetan all schools in the top of the world. Here is a final example of cultural genocide led tirelessly for over fifty years.

a time when the Chinese government clearly prohibits "gatherings of Jasmine", provided every Sunday at 14h in twenty-seven major cities in China the Tibetan diaspora, scattered in several countries, re-elects the premier and members of parliament of the exile government, giving the world an example of true démocratie.Face his own people, especially youth facing an exasperated by the Tibetan Chinese politics, the Dalai Lama continues to foster non-violence, dialogue between peoples and individuals, and tries to propose a compromise acceptable to both parties so that everyone can live in harmony in the Republic
China.

not forget the legitimate aspiration of the Tibetan people to freedom, culture and rights Rights. Find us Thursday, March 10, Capitol Square at 17:30 in a republican spirit and fraternal.

Thanking you in advance for your indispensable presence

PARIS / PALAIS DU LUXEMBOURG, March 9, 2011: Tibet France organizes a symposium on the outstanding water issues in the Himalayas

Category: General
Posted by: Julian
Date: 10/02
Edit Article
The Himalaya mountain range the highest in the world, is also the third planetary reservoir of fresh water. Its glaciers feed the major rivers of Asia.
In fact, Himalayan region and the wider Hindu-Kush Himalayas (HKH), provides direct water for irrigation, agricultural activities, production of hydropower and other domestic uses of lowland communities downstream of the massif. The basins of these rivers supply water to 1.3 billion people, one fifth of the world population.

Melting 3rd Pole The Tibetan plateau, the highest plateau in the world, is known to be the third pole of the Earth. But, like the Arctic and Antarctic, this reservoir of icy water facing the full brunt of climate change. Over the past 50 years, most of the Tibetan plateau glaciers lost in space, and two-thirds could disappear by 2050 if current trends continue.
A net decrease of precipitation (50% in winter) causes atrophy of small glaciers and melting snow, affecting the flow of rivers. Some village communities and have already been displaced following the disappearance of glaciers that fed their villages. Other villages have had to reduce their agricultural activities.
In determining the issues in this region, the Association France-Tibet marcredi decided to organize a symposium March 9, 2011, whose objectives will be:
